Instructions to make Strawberry pie:
- Mix the flour and butter (frozen) cubes together using your finger tips until it forms like bread crumbs. Sprinkle cold water and bind it into a stiff dough. Wrap it with a cling wrap and refrigerate for 2 hours.
- Heat a sauce pan. Add 8-10 chopped strawberries and 2 tbsp of sugar. Boil until sugar dissolves and the sauce becomes little thick in consistency. Switch of the flame and keep aside to cool.
- Take two portions from the dough and roll into 2 inch thick circles.Now using heart shaped biscuit cutter,cut one circle from the centre.In the other circle fill the strawberry crush leaving the sides.Now place the other heart shaped circle on top of this and press and seal the edges using a fork. Make all the pie's and refrigerate again for half an hour before baking.
- Preheat the oven and bake the pie's for 10-15 minutes at 180-200°C or until the sides starts to give s golden brown colour.Take them out and cool.The outer crust will get crispy as it gets cooled.
- Notes: - - 1.You can use jams or chocolate spreads as filling too. - - 2.The measurements for crest should be perfect. - - 3.I have used salted butter.If you're using unsalted, add a pich of salt while making the dough.
